Alla Nikitina

Alla Nikitina was born in the Ukraine. Her early training began at the Donetsk School of Ballet. She then went on to study at the famous St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts, Russia, where she studied the Vaganova method of classical ballet, as well as techniques of character dance. In 1979 Alla graduated from the Academy with honors and embarked on a successful career with a number of Russian dance companies.In 1985 Alla Nikitina became the founder and artistic director of the Rovesnik Dance Company in Kiev, Ukraine. Her company’s numerous appearances in Europe were a big success, Mrs. Nikitina received high awards for excellence and mastership at national and international dance competitions and festivals, including the First Prize at the First National Choreographer’s competition of the Ukraine in 1985. She is a proud winner of the prestigious N. Livitsky National Award.
She moved to United States in 1997 and started to work as a full time member of the faculty at the Hartford Ballet, Hartt School and BFA Dance Division of the University of Hartford. Alla is a welcome guest teacher at a number of professional dance schools in the United States, including the School of Boston Ballet, the School of Rochester Ballet, Brass City Ballet and others. Alla is a highly motivated, energetic and dedicated teacher who loves her profession passionately. She instills her students the same level of enthusiasm, thus earning their love and respect.
