At the beginning of 2020, a very interesting project for Huhtamaki was completed. It is the world’s leading manufacturer of disposable tableware and packaging for the catering market. The company’s factories are located on 6 continents. In Ukraine, the production facilities of Huhtamaki are represented by a new plant with an area of ​​about 5,000 sq.m.

Advansys engineers developed and implemented a unique project using a whole range of engineering solutions. All work was done from scratch and on a turnkey basis. To implement this project, specialists of the company from different industries were involved.

One of the main requirements was the energy efficiency of the enterprise, which would save significant funds and resources during the operation of the building. At the same time, all systems had to comply with the most stringent European standards and provide comfortable working conditions for the staff.
From the implemented systems: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power supply, structured cabling, heating point, security systems and lighting system.

Heating system
From the very beginning, it was decided to abandon traditional heating systems and use an air-to-water heat pump. Such devices use a special gaseous refrigerant that circulates in a closed circuit and is able to take heat from the air. In the evaporator, which is located outside and is in contact with air, the refrigerant “boils”, that is, evaporates, while its temperature is lower than the air temperature. The gas is heated from the walls of the system, passes through the compressor, where the pressure rises and the substance is compressed, while its temperature rises. In the process of condensation, the refrigerant gives off heat through the walls of the system to the heat-carrying water, which heats the building.

In this way, we ensured a reduction in the operating costs of the enterprise and increased its autonomy due to a very efficient, economical and reliable heating system.

Ventilation system
It was necessary to design a ventilation system that would ensure the supply of fresh air into the building and reduce heat loss.

A recuperation system was installed, which allows to reduce energy consumption during ventilation. This is realized due to the fact that the air emitted from the building exchanges heat with the air entering. In this way, energy conservation of up to 89-90% is achieved, since heat is not emitted, but recycled. At the same time, other tasks are performed: cleaning from odors, dust and solid particles, normalizing CO2 levels, and reducing the risk of the spread of viral or bacterial infections.

As a result, all parameters comply with sanitary and hygienic standards.
When choosing air ducts, it was decided to use a modern textile system. The main argument was a lightweight design, since with a large floor area it was necessary to reduce the load on the roof, and textile air ducts can perform several tasks at once:
• reduce aerodynamic noise from fans
• prevent condensation
• exclude the reproduction of microorganisms, which is especially important in this production
• counteract the formation of drafts

Power supply and structured cabling
For the installation of the production electrical system, a busbar system with the design of individual supports was chosen. This feature allows you not to load the roof, while reducing capital costs for power supply, and the elements of the system are easy to use.

Lighting
The lighting system is based on TM Yasa Lighting equipment, which meets not only the lighting design but also the most stringent European standards. Due to the high ceiling height, Sun Led industrial luminaires with narrow profile lenses are integrated into the system to provide zone lighting in accordance with the requirements of Europrotocols.
