All pieces with the exception of the obligatory piece by Mykola Lysenko must be performed from memory

Each piece can be performed only once (cannot be repeated in other rounds)

Third Round programme is performed with symphony orchestra

First Round
(duration must not exceed 35 minutes)

1. J.S. Bach
 - Prelude, Allemande and Courante from any of the Six Solo Cello Suites
or
- Prelude, Sarabande and Gigue from any of the Six Solo Cello Suites

2. Any sonata from the following:
Schubert - Sonata in A Minor Arpeggione
Beethoven - Sonatas No. 3, 4, 5, op. 69, op. 102 No. 1, op.102 No. 2
Brahms - Sonatas in E Minor op. 38 or F Major

3. Lysenko - Elegy “Sorrow” or Gavotte

 

 

Second Round
(duration must not exceed 45 minutes)

1. Tchaikovsky – Pezzo capriccioso

2. One from the following 20th century cello and piano sonatas:
Hindemith (op. 11 No. 3), Barber, Britten, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Schnittke (1978), Sylvestrov


3. A piece for cello and piano by a composer of the country represented by the Competitor

Dvorak - Concerto in B Minor op. 104

Schumann - Concerto in A Minor

Elgar - Concerto in E Minor
Tchaikovsky - Rococo Variations op. 33

Prokofiev - Symphony-Concerto op. 125
Skoryk - Concerto
Liashenko - Concerto
